The Jacksonville Pathfinder and Adventurer Clubs participated in the Veterans Day Parade. After prayerfully considering participating and counsel from our Pastor the leaders spoke to the staff and the club members to see how they felt. Everyone felt this would be a great evangelistic outreach for our club. And participating would allow us to show that we support Our Troops. After speaking with the parents and receiving their approval and blessings, we presented the event to our Board.
It was truly an honor and a blessing to march in the Jacksonville Veterans Day Parade. We were received so well by those in attendance. Every time the youth would sing their Adventurer, Pathfinder and Eager Beaver songs there were many in the crowd who would clap and cheer. It was such a tremendous experience to represent Jesus Christ, the Jacksonville SDA Church and the Jacksonville Adventurer & Pathfinder Clubs. The Christians in the crowd seemed to respond with joy and excitement at hearing our children sing about "King Jesus", "The Servants of God are we", and "We are on our way to Heaven We hope you'll come aboard." This was truly a wonderful experience for the children as well as our staff. There were even some Veterans from WWII that stood up and saluted our youth.
We praise God for giving us such a wonderful opportunity to represent our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This event made such an impact on all the children, that they immediately started saying they want to do this again next year. If your club has not participated in a parade, we the leaders would recommend you consider doing so.
